Respond to Southampton Council’s Clean Air Zone consultation – it only takes 1 minute! Southampton City Council is consulting on plans to introduce a Clean Air Zone to tackle the illegal and harmful levels of air pollution in Southampton and protect the health of everyone in the city. The Council is proposing a Class B Clean Air Zone which would charge buses, coaches, Heavy Goods Vehicles, taxis and private hire vehicles to enter the zone from 2020 onwards. The consultation is open until 13 September 2018 so make sure you respond here soon! The Clean Air Parents’ Network is a project by the British Lung Foundation and ClientEarth to support parents and carers of children across the country who want to help solve the UK’s air pollution crisis. We are calling on all levels of government to take action to tackle illegal and harmful levels of air pollution so our children can grow up breathing cleaner and healthier air.
